Sustainability / ESG Content Resources

Sustainability holistically considers the governance of an organisation’s environmental, social, and economic viability to ensure organisations exist for the long term, and the needs of the present are met without compromising the needs of future generations. ESG (economic, social and governance) builds on sustainability but with an added focus on the governance aspects of procurement practices. ESG is a specific set of criteria used to demonstrate the ethical behaviours carried out by an organisation, which relates to its impact on both the environment and society, alongside the internal policies and governance that determine its values.

The two terms are often used interchangeably within organisations.
