How do I achieve MCIPS?
MCIPS can be achieved by:
- An Accredited Degree
- CIPS Management Entry Route (MER) for senior professionals.
- The CIPS Corporate Award learning programme for individuals or groups of professionals.
- Completing the CIPS Level 4 Diploma, Level 5 Advanced Diploma and the Level 6 Professional Diploma qualifications.

What type of membership do I need?
If you have completed either the CIPS Qualifications or the CIPS Corporate Award you can apply with your current student membership
If you’ve completed an Accredited Degree, looking to apply for MER or if you’re not registered with CIPS, you'll need to have Affiliate membership. For new members, log in to join.
If your membership is within one month of your renewal date, you'll need to ensure that your membership fees have been paid in full to avoid any issues with your application.
What experience do I need?
You’ll need at least three years’ experience of holding a position of responsibility within procurement and supply.
You’ll also need a signed letter on your company’s letter head, from your Line Manager or whoever is responsible for your role or delivery of activities. You can use our Line Manager letter template.

Already achieved your MCIPS status?
Here's your opportunity to stay at the top of your game by applying for Chartered Professional status or Fellowship.
Chartered Status
As a fully qualified MCIPS/FCIPS, you may be eligible for Chartered Status. All you need to do is self-declare your 30 CPD hours and have an up-to-date ethics test and membership status. Once you've done this, we'll automatically upgrade you to Chartered Status.

FCIPS
CIPS Fellows are senior advocates of the procurement and supply profession and FCIPS is the highest grade of membership. Potential Fellows must be MCIPS and also either a Chief Procurement Officer and procurement professional or a leading procurement consultant or academic.
