Policies
We are committed to offering a high standard of service to all of our customers, including student members, approved centres and assessors. We aim to provide a service that is:

- Prompt and efficient

Our Assessment Review and Appeal policy applies to all forms of assessment against our modules including examinations and exemptions. To apply for a review or an appeal, these applications can now be found in your MyCIPS area, under My Applications and requests.

Equal opportunities
CIPS has responsibilities under the Equal Opportunities Act, Disability Discrimination Act and the Office for Qualifications and Examinations Regulator to ensure all candidates have equal opportunities to reach their full potential. 
This means no candidate will receive less favourable treatment on the grounds of gender, colour, ethnicity, or national origin, socio-economic background, disability, religious or political beliefs, family circumstances, sexual orientation or other irrelevant distinction.
To cancel your exam within the exam booking window, and in line with the exam terms and conditions, you will need to log into your MYCIPS account.
If you booked your exam online, and the booking window is still open you can cancel your exam and claim a full refund. Additionally, there is a 14-day cooling of period in which you can cancel and receive a full refund. The 14-day cooling off period begins from the day you booked and paid for your exam online.
If your exam was booked by your study centre, you will need to contact them directly to request the cancellation on your behalf.
Once the exam booking window has closed or the 14-day cooling off period has passed, no cancellations can be accepted, and no refund will be provided. The only exception is for medical reasons affecting a student and/or immediate family member during the exam period, or for a significant time leading up to the booked exam. If you believe you are in an exceptional situation that is not covered by a medical reason, please contact our team using the contact form below for further advice.
Where possible, applications to cancel an exam, must be received before the date the exam is due to take place. In the event of illness or accidents on the exam day, applications must be made within 2 working days of the exam date. Medical evidence may be requested at the point of application. If your application is approved, you will receive a refund of the exam fee only. The venue hosting fee or the remote invigilation fee you have paid are non-refundable.

Every effort is made to ensure customers have access to clear information about fees and payment, and are offered a variety of payment methods.
CIPS Awarding Body strives to prevent the occurrence of malpractice in the development, delivery and award of its qualifications, in order to safeguard the consistency and integrity of all assessments.
CIPS has a responsibility to ensure all candidates have equal opportunities to reach their full potential. In some instances, candidates may require adjustments to the assessment process to give them an equal opportunity. Applications for Reasonable Adjustments should be submitted to CIPS before the assessment entry closure date. If you submit a Reasonable Adjustment application after the assessment booking deadline (refer to key dates and deadlines here), the adjustment will be applied to the next assessment window, provided it is approved
Candidates may apply for Special Consideration for any instance that may have affected their assessment performance, which could not possibly be predicted. Such applications must be submitted within two working days of the assessment. Applications can only be accepted after the assessment has taken place, as the adjustment will be considered based on the impact experienced during the assessment.
