As direct sourcing involved hiring potential suppliers directly, you’ll know exactly what you’re looking for, without having to rely on and communication with a third-party. There are modern tools like marketplace platforms, that will allow you to find the best suppliers, simply by inputting a keyword. These platforms contain suppliers that are pre-vetted from independent professions, helping you to minimise the time spent on finding the right supplier.

Relying on third parties to source means you must trust them in understanding your business objectives. They could find a supplier that is within your budget, but not the ideal organisational fit. The benefit of direct sourcing is that you have the control over which supplier you work with.

Curating a private talent pool will help you to easily find and engage potential suppliers. The talent pool is managed in house, so it reduces the time to fill any open positions when needed. As all suppliers are pre-vetted and have already engaged with your organisation, the selection process is easier.
