CIPS Tutor
What does this job entail?
We're looking for experienced procurement and supply professionals (MCIPS/FCIPS) to deliver high-quality training across our global learning programmes. These include qualifications, apprenticeships (UK only), corporate awards, skills training, content development, and client visits. To apply, you’ll need:
- MCIPS/FCIPS membership
- Over five years’ relevant experience in the procurement and supply profession
- Experience in teaching or training and, ideally, a qualification to support this

Your Micro-Teach Session
Once shortlisted, we will arrange your virtual micro-teach via Teams. You'll choose a topic from the [Micro-Teach Briefing for Applicants 2025] and deliver a 20-minute on-line session using approaches that showcase your style and engage the panel. A small panel of CIPS staff, both practitioners and non-practitioners, will assess your delivery, knowledge, and approach. You’ll receive written feedback and a decision within five working days. If successful, you’ll complete the onboarding process which will include assessing your skills and experience, and your availability.
Tutor Agreements & Commitments
All tutors sign a contract covering service levels, CIPS ethical standards, and independence. Standard fees apply based on activity, with terms outlined in the agreement.
You'll also need to provide:
- Proof of £1M+ Professional Indemnity Insurance
- A completed Supplier Agreement
- A Competency Skills Matrix and standard-format biography
Work is allocated based on your expertise and location by our UK and regional teams. Tutors must attend at least one annual training event, which supports CPD and ensures consistent, high-quality delivery.

Tutor Standards & Expectations
CIPS is proud to deliver high-quality training through expert tutors. To maintain excellence, we ask tutors to meet the following standards—ensuring every learner feels supported, engaged, and able to thrive in a diverse learning environment:
- Professionalism: Be punctual, well-prepared, and dressed smartly unless otherwise advised.
- Delivery: Build rapport, stay organised, and tailor sessions to diverse learner needs.
- Technology: Most training is online—ensure you meet our Minimum Technology Requirements.
- Preparation: Submit lesson plans and review materials thoroughly. Contact us if anything is unclear.
- Feedback: Collect learner feedback via the tutor portal and share tutor-to-tutor insights when needed.
- CPD: Submit annual CPD and complete the CIPS Ethics e-learning test
- Audit & Safeguarding: Provide requested documents annually. DBS checks may be required for UK programmes.
- Apprenticeships: Tutors must complete Prevent and Safeguarding training every two years and read Part 1 of Keeping Children Safe in Education 2025.
- Lesson Visits: Observations are scheduled to support your development and ensure consistent delivery.
Compliance: Notify CIPS of any conflicts of interest and follow all contractual obligations.
