CIPS & NISCL Sign MoU Toward a Strategic Alliance in the Canadian Procurement and Supply Chain Profession

10 October 2024

The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) and The National Institute of Supply Chain Leadership (NISCL) in Canada have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to form an exclusive collaborative partnership. The strategic alliance would see both organisations working together on joint initiatives to promote membership growth and professional development opportunities tailored to the evolving needs of supply chain professionals in Canada.

A key focus of this MoU is to align NISCL’s Certified Supply Chain Leader (NISCL-CSCL) designation with CIPS’ globally recognised standards of excellence in procurement and supply chain management and the MCIPS designation. Through this collaboration, NISCL-CSCL designation holders will have the opportunity to gain access to the prestigious MCIPS designation, elevating their credentials to a global level and opening doors for international recognition.

Jonathan Morgan, Market Director for the UK, Europe and Americas at CIPS commented on the significance of this potential partnership: “Collaborating with NISCL opens new doors for us in the Canadian market. Together, we are committed to promoting excellence in procurement and supply chain management through education and professional development.

Al-Azhar Khalfan, President and CEO of NISCL commented, “This agreement is a significant step forward for NISCL. By partnering with CIPS, we are expanding the range of resources and opportunities available to our community of supply chain professionals, ensuring they have access to the highest professional development standards and industry insights to lead in their organisations.”

This MoU underscores the shared commitment of NISCL and CIPS to advancing the procurement and supply chain professions. It will also offer their members expanded access to education, certification and networking opportunities to elevate their functional and leadership inside their organisations.
