CIPS and ITN Business partner to create news-style programme Resilient Supply Chains

23 March 2023

The procurement and supply profession has faced many challenges in recent years from the Covid-19 pandemic to Brexit, inflation and supply constraints. However, now the profession is building for the future, developing resilient and agile supply chains harnessing the power of technology, a talented workforce and addressing issues including sustainability, ethics, social value and diversity.

ITN Business and CIPS have partnered to produce Resilient Supply Chains. Hosted by presenter and journalist Sharon Thomas from the ITN London Studio, the programme will raise awareness and understanding of the issues that affect the global procurement and supply management profession.

Launching on 23rd September 2023, the programme will feature thought-leader interviews, news items and sponsored editorial profiles demonstrating best practice and highlighting the importance of efficient procurement to organisational success. The programme will address combatting supply disruption, global challenges, the power of data and technology driving supply chain efficiencies, sustainable procurement and reporting, diversity and inclusion and the work the sector is doing to encourage the next generation of supply chain professionals.

The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply said:

"Our research has highlighted the importance of resilience in supply chains, so we are delighted we will again be working with ITN to explore some of the most urgent issues faced by procurement and supply professionals.
“We will never eliminate risk from business and procurement but trained procurement and supply professionals, who understand how to manage risk by implementing strategies to maximise resilience, are better prepared for future shocks. If you would like to be involved in telling the story of resilient supply chains, get in touch and join us in showcasing the best of resilience across our profession"

Nina Harrison-Bell, Head of ITN Business said:

"Disruption to supply chains is here to stay and we hope our programme will provide a platform to help organisations mitigate risks and identify areas of vulnerability to get control of what's ahead in 2023."
