Once you have achieved the Procurement and supply chain practitioner / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education you can position yourself as effective and commercially skilled in the procurement and supply chain function.
All of the knowledge, skills and behaviours you will gain are transferable into the public, private and charitable sectors due to the mandatory qualification CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply. You will also be awarded Diploma Membership of CIPS, giving you the potential to continue on a qualifications pathway leading to MCIPS Chartered Professional.

Entry requirements
Whilst any entry requirements will be a matter for individual employers, typically an apprentice might be expected to have already achieved GCSE Maths and English on entry.
What you will learn
To fulfil this role you must develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs) in all aspects of the commercial lifecycle. It is through a combination of on-the-job training and off-the-job learning, that you'll gain the necessary expertise to prepare for the Gateway and ultimately, the end-point assessment.
18 months on programme learning consists of:
- CIPS Level 4 Diploma L4M1-L4M7
- Apprenticeship KSBs
Gateway criteria consists of:
- Completed CIPS Level 4 Diploma L4M1-L4M7
- Completed English and Maths in line with the apprenticeship funding rules
- Submit a portfolio of evidence
4 months End -Point Assessment learning consists of:
- Presentation with questions
- Interview underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
- Case study test
- Certification

Duration
The apprenticeship will typically take up to 18 months to complete with a minimum of 12 months duration – this can vary depending on your training provider and level of experience.
